About · The Method

Built by a coach.
For coaches.

The Bradford System programs a whole roster on one conjugate engine — it flexes by sport, season, frequency and track, and progresses week to week. You coach. It periodizes.

The Story

It came out of the weight room, not a lab.

The Bradford System started as a solution to a real problem: one coach, a weight room full of athletes, and a dozen different sports all in different seasons at the same time. Football's in-season while baseball's off. The volleyball team is peaking while cross country is racing. Writing a fresh program for every athlete every week isn't sustainable — and grabbing random workouts off the internet isn't coaching.

So the answer became a single engine: one proven method, periodized correctly, that adapts to whatever sport, season, and schedule an athlete is in — and tells them exactly what to do today. Built the way a coach actually thinks, then sharpened session after session with real teams.

"Every athlete on the roster, programmed and progressing — without the coach rewriting a plan every single week."
The Method

Conjugate, made simple.

The conjugate method trains several qualities at once instead of one at a time — so an athlete builds max strength, explosive power, and work capacity in the same week, all year. It's how you get strong and fast without ever fully detraining one to chase the other. Three efforts do the work:

Max Effort

Get Strong

Work up to one heavy top set. Builds true maximal strength and the confidence of moving a hard weight — rotated often so nothing goes stale.

Dynamic Effort

Get Explosive

Sub-maximal weight moved as fast as humanly possible, plus jumps and throws. Turns that strength into on-field speed and power.

Repetition

Get Durable

Targeted accessory work and sport-specific prevention — the shoulders, hamstrings, groins and cores that keep athletes healthy for a full season.

The same engine flexes to the athlete in front of it — not a one-size-fits-all template:

The Block

Every week beats the last.

Off-season runs as one periodized block that accumulates volume, converts it to intensity, then peaks and retests — with a strategic deload built in so the body comes back sharp. Pre-season converts strength to sport power; in-season maintains it around game day. No two weeks run the same numbers.

01–02
Exposure
Groove clean technique, set your baseline numbers.
03–04
Comprehension
Accumulate honest volume — build the engine.
05–06
Ascension
Reps drop, load climbs — intensify.
07
Deload
Recovery is the work. Come back fresh.
08
Summit
Near-peak strength at half the volume.
09
Realization
Taper, then retest against Week 1.
